Kalamazoo Valley Chapter Trout Unlimited (KVCTU) will be hosting Damsels Fly, a fly fishing class for women who are new to the sport. The all-day course will be held at Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery Visitor Center in Mattawan. We’ll provide instruction in casting, gear, knots, fly tying, etiquette, bugs, safety, finding and reading the water, protecting our resources, and the TU mission. The class will be informative and fun, and hopefully give participants the confidence to get out on the water – and maybe get involved in chapter activities. Our thanks to our DNR partners at Wolf Lake, and to the many members helping out.
The following day, you’ll have the chance to get on-the-water experience on the Kalamazoo River in Battle Creek.
The cost is just $60, and includes lunch and lots of giveaways, along with expert instruction by many of TU’s best teachers. No equipment is necessary.
Class size is limited to 25, so register soon!
