Brief info

Dr. Caswell Evans, Jr. has been a fisherman most of his life and fly-fishing for over 50 years. He’s fished for many species of fish in fresh and salt water in many states, including Alaska, and in Ireland and Scotland as well. He is in the fourth stage of fly fishing: catching a fish, catching the most fish, catching the biggest fish, just fishing. He prefers to fish rivers, streams, and lakes, from his canoe when appropriate. He was a public health administrator and educator for much of his long professional career. He was Director, King County Division, Seattle-King County Department of Public Health for seven years, Director of Public Health Programs and Services, Los Angeles County Department of Health for 13 years, and served in the Office of the US Surgeon General for seven years. After 15 years, he retired as an Emeritus Professor, University of Illinois at Chicago.
