Jim Shotwell

Father taught him fly-fishing at about 10 years old at the sheep ranch on the north branch. Graduated Southfield High in 1966, MSU in 1970, Detroit College of Law (now MSU) in 1975. Practiced small town northern Michigan law for 40 years in Tawas City, 45 minutes from some of the best wading water on the AuSable River.
Been married 54 years to Patricia, mother of his 3 children: David, 50, Certified Financial Planner with 2 children; Andrew, 46, Attorney, with 3 children; Karen, 44, RN, with 3 children. All are fly-fishers or at least fishers.
