Join us for Reeling in Memories, a relaxed, family-friendly fishing road trip hosted by the Kalamazoo Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited (KVCTU)! This event is designed for anglers of all ages and skill levels to come together, enjoy the great outdoors, and create lasting memories.

This year, we’re proud to partner with Spring Valley Trout Farm in Dexter, MI — a multi-generational, family-run business committed to providing premium, farm-raised fish. We encourage all participants to leave wild fish in their natural habitats and instead fill their freezers with high-quality farm-raised trout and catfish, supporting local, sustainable practices.

🐟 What to Expect

• A laid-back, no-pressure fishing experience for all ages and skill levels

• FREE lunch for anyone who registers by Friday, July 19th

• FREE entry with advance registration

• Family-friendly and accessible for everyone

• Support and guidance from KVCTU volunteers

• Lighthearted contests and fun giveaways

• 🐟 IMPORTANT: All fish caught must be kept and are NOT free — fish are priced by weight and must be paid for at checkout (see pricing below)

• No catch-and-release is allowed

• Protective eye wear is recommended for all participants while fishing

• Playsets available for kids to take breaks and enjoy some playtime during the event

🎣 Fish Species & Pricing

🌈 Rainbow Trout

• $9.89 per lb

• Average 12–16 inches (~1 lb each, feeds two people)

• Cleaning: $0.40 per fish

• De-boning (optional): +$0.30 per fish

🐟 Channel Catfish

• $8.49 per lb

• Average 1–2 lbs each

• Cleaning: $0.60 per fish

• De-boning (optional): +$0.30 per fish

🧼 Fish cleaning and de-boning services available on-site.

🎣 Equipment & Rules

• NO artificial bait, lures, or fly-fishing allowed

• Natural/live bait is provided

• Recommended gear: Spinning rod with 10-lb test line or stronger (especially for catfish)

• Loaner rods available

• No fishing license required (private farm exemption)

• Protective eye wear is recommended for all participants
